Day 4!

Our morning started at 8:00 AM with breakfast! The kids arrived for VBS at 9:30 and we jumped into some ice breaker activities!

We were led in song and dance by Rachel and Debby. Prizes were given to those who danced with the most enthusiasm.

Elijah and Alan were chosen to be wrapped up as mummies by their respective teams. Although Elijah was obviously the better mummy, Alan was declared the winner.

After the morning games, we went into lesson time. Drew taught the lesson with the assistance of Paige and Abby Newell. He taught about the prodigal son and how we have a good God. We helped the Ticos memorize a bible verse, Luke 19:10, by reciting it together and assembling a puzzle.

We then went into game time! There were three stations that we rotated through with the kids. We played various games with the parachute, different versions of soccer, and we swam for a long time. We were treated with Costa Rican snow cones, which are topped with condensed and powdered milk.

After snack time, we made toucans out of foam during craft time! Although the glue put us into a bit of a sticky situation, all of the toucans were successfully assembled. Right before the kids left, the team changed into their black t-shirts to perform the skit! It went smoothly even though it was our first time doing it in Costa Rica.

The rest of the day was spent preparing for tomorrow's VBS, relaxing, and completing our Bible study for the day. We ended the day with a team meeting and the daily allocation of beads.

Please pray for tomorrow as we get tested for Covid before our return to the USA!
