Day 3!

We once again kicked off the day at 8:00 am with breakfast! We then had about an hour of fellowship time before church began at 9:30. Drew and Julián both led in worship; some songs were in Spanish and others were in English. Mauricio preached on 2 Samuel chapter 23 about trusting God to conquer the lions in our lives. He said that no matter what our calling is, we should aim to be a Christian influence on the world. Although Mau preached in Spanish, it was translated to English as he spoke.

After church, a massive game of soccer broke out with 7 people on each side. Apparently, seeing Elijah play soccer was a major shock to some of the team members. Some members of the team took the time as an opportunity to complete their daily devotion. We also taught some games to the Ticos, like pig and spike ball.

After the game of soccer (which neither team won), we enjoyed a typical Costa Rican lunch of beans and rice. Lunch was interrupted by another storm with a downpour of rain. The afternoon was full of conversations and card games. Four square was a popular past-time during the storm.

Around 5 o'clock, the Tico's left for home and we cleaned up the area in preparation for the VBS that will be happening in the next couple of days. We took a trip to Pops for ice cream. Alexa assisted the team members to

order their ice cream in Spanish. We also went to a supermarket for snacks and coffee.

We ended the night with some last-minute planning for VBS. We had a team meeting and we carried on the bead-ceremony tradition. Each team member gives two beads in order to honor good work on the mission field.

Please continue to pray that God will bless our efforts and that we will build relationships.
