Day 2

Before going on a mission trip, you are taught to expect the unexpected. The team definitely experienced this lesson early this morning when our bus was stuck in the mud! Obviously this resulted in a late start, but we made it to our first school in Barranca.

After all those naps on the bus, it took the team a while to get into a rhythm. When the first group came in, we got moving with some fun games! The Ticos separated into groups, and the team members split off to teach English. All the students had a fun time talking about their families and hobbies. Next, the team performed "Creere" for the first time in Costa Rica! After the drama, we once again grouped with students and lead them through a short tract that shared the gospel. The first session was a definite success, and everyone felt a lot more comfortable talking and participating afterward.

Before heading back to camp, the team was rewarded by Camille with ice cream! The bus ride back was filled with conversations, worship songs, and again, naps. After dinner the team reconvened for devotions and a team meeting.

The team is excited to start work again tomorrow morning, after a night of rest first! Please pray for continual health, safety, and energy for the team. Pray, also, for the seeds that were planted to the nearly 200 teenagers today! The team worked so hard to share the Gospel message today!

Machinery was brought in to pull us out of the mud!
