Day two started with a breakfast spread! The team had a time of fellowship while enjoying donuts and chocolate milk. We kicked off the meeting with praise, prayer, and devotion. The team continued to study Matthew 10 which shares the cost of being a disciple of Christ. Each team member is being challenged to reflect on what it really means to be a disciple, or follower, of Jesus. The team completed another icebreaker activity and continued to learn their VBS songs.
The team continued their study of Foreign to Familiar by discussing the difference between task oriented and relationship-based individuals. We are preparing to be pushed out of our comfort zones on this trip! Because of the spring-like weather this week, the team has had many opportunities to pull out the parachute and practice games for the kids. It has been a lot of fun taking some of our activities outside this week.
The study of Hudson Taylor’s story has offered an excellent example of one who dedicated his life as a disciple of Christ. Today the team discussed the specific sacrifices Taylor made to be prepared for his calling to China. The day finished with a team building activity and more snacks! We look forward to continuing our discussions and preparations tomorrow!
