It's hard to believe that after all these months of weekly meetings, it is only ONE WEEK until our departure from Columbus! School is out for the summer, but our team met together at 9:00 this morning to begin final preparations for the trip. After today's meeting, we will get together only two more times before we leave. The team will meet tomorrow for one more full-day meeting and Sunday for a family get together and time of prayer.
To start off our meeting this morning, we began with reflections on the fears and anticipations of the upcoming trip. This led into a time of prayer for our teammates and anything about the trip that has or will create fear and anxiety in the next week. We continued our Bible study, "A Message from God," by reading 1 John 3: 7-10 and discussing what it looks like to be righteous.
We spent a majority of our time today working on the drama that will be presented in the local schools and at any day camps we help organize. After a lunch break, the team worked on their Spanish terms and words. They put more practice time in to the drama, and we reviewed the itinerary for the trip.
Please pray for the team as we get closer to the trip! Now that the school year is over, we are working to gear our minds toward the trip and what we want to accomplish for the Lord. Pray for nerves, especially for new students who are unsure of how they will communicate in a foreign country. Pray for the health and safety of all team members as we begin the final count down to our departure date!
