LCA's 2022 Costa Rica team has been gearing up for nearly a month in preparation for their pending trip! After an informational parent meeting earlier in the semester, the team came together for a week of all-day training during the school's ESM week.
Training has included prayer and praise time, a study of 1 John using "A Message from God" by Pam Gillapsie, a study of the book Foreign to Familiar, team building activities, cultural studies, and discussions over the book God's Smuggler.
The team's Bible study focused on understanding how God loves the world and how we should view the world as believers. Our discussion emphasized that while we should love others and strive to share God's love with those around us, the world is fading away; therefore, we should not attach ourselves to this world and the things in it.
Today's meeting included a wrap up of the book Foreign to Familiar, an analysis of hot and cold climate
cultures around the world. The team has studied how to communicate and relate to individuals who may think, act, and view life differently from us here in the United States.
Continue to pray for the team as they bond - we have a great set of individuals that are working well together! Pray for finances since there are some who are still working on raising funds. Please pray for the hearts of our team members. Pray that God softens all of our hearts so that we may grow more in God.
